Now that we’re well into lockdown, some of the novelty has worn off and I can imagine some of us are starting to get a bit bored. As we finish our last assignments, we’re beginning to look for other things to do as we enter the summer months. Here’s some of my favourite ideas.
Upcycle and re-purpose
We’ve all got bits and pieces in our houses that could do with a bit of TLC. Think about revamping chairs with different fabric, painting an old chest of drawers, making some new shelves out of some planks of wood. The list is endless. You can find loads of creative ideas on Instagram, Pintrest and lots of other sites. Look around for some inspiration and get going.
Being stuck in the house, I’ve noticed a few places where the painting needs a bit of a touch up. You might want to completely re-do your bedroom or living room or just freshen up the place. Another idea for the kid’s rooms is wall stickers. These are really easy to remove and cheap to get.
Your garden might be tiny, a mess, or just a place where you sit out in the summer. However, no matter the size, you can always make something really special out of it. A friend of mine recently re-did her small garden really cheaply by looking for things second hand and maximising the space she had. Again, look for some inspiration online and see what you can make out of your space.
You might be feeling a bit creative at this time and so there’s plenty of craft ideas online. Make yourself some cute decorations for your space such as bunting, vases and picture frames. There’s plenty of kits if you’re not used to making crafts, but you might find that this becomes your new hobby.
