1. University of Suffolk Student Jobs Board shall advertise information about appropriate job vacancies to University of Suffolk students and alumni. Information may be displayed on our social media accounts and the Jobs Board. Updates will also be emailed to those students that have registered with the service and set up email updates. Details on how to register can be found on the Jobs Board homepage.
2. University of Suffolk Student Jobs Board will endeavour to provide students with employment information that is as up-to-date and as accurate as possible. However, all students must confirm for themselves through the employer's contact details that this information is accurate. All information given is in good faith and is based on information supplied by the employer and notified to the University of Suffolk Careers Service.
3. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they have the relevant skills and qualifications required for a particular post before applying for it. Students will also ensure that all applications are honest and accept that false claims and statements are not in anyones best interest.
4. The University of Suffolk Jobs Board will not disclose the names, addresses or telephone numbers of students without first seeking consent and shall conform to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the Data Protection Act (2018) and any subsequent related Acts.
5. The University of Suffolk Students' Union and University of Suffolk Student Services will endeavour to provide information about employment issues, such as; work requirements, for example, visa restrictions, Income Tax, National Insurance and the effect of earnings on benefits or, where appropriate, direct the student to another source that can offer more specialised information and guidance. 6. If a student is dissatisfied with the employer, the University of Suffolk Students' Union and University of Suffolk Student Services will endeavour to offer guidance and support. If a student believes an employer to be in breach of the Code of Practice or employment law, the University of Suffolk Students' Union Advice Centre and University of Suffolk Student Services can assist the student with an employer related dispute, referring on if necessary.
7. Students requiring information or guidance on a range of issues not directly relating to a particular vacancy can access guidance and help from the Student Services team. Appointments can be arranged in the Infozone for queries such as:

8. Students are expected to be aware of their own study commitments and not to take on employment that will adversely affect their academic work. Students should make clear to any prospective employer what their study commitments are likely to be. The National Union of Students (NUS) recommends that full time students work no more than 16 hours per week during the semester.
