How I'm spending the summer

summer 0

I’m loving this gorgeous weather we have at the moment! I can’t believe it’s been going on for this long either, but I’m glad because I’m able to spend my summer doing so many different things. Here’s a few of the things I’ve been up to during my first summer break.

I was lucky enough to travel to both Dublin and Vienna during July with some friends. Both these cities were beautiful and have so much interesting history behind them. Around Dublin, there are constant reminders of the struggles for independence in places like Dublin Castle and  Kilmainham Gaol.

Vienna was a hub of culture and had an incredible amount of castles and palaces. I’d have to say that one of my favourite places there was the Prater, a theme park that was close to our hotel. It’s home to the oldest working Ferris Wheel where you can see all over Vienna.

While I was doing my A Levels, I was working in a pizza shop in Brighton. Luckily, I kept in contact with a lot of my friends who work there, and I was able to get my job back over the summer. Although it’s not the most exciting job, all my colleagues are good to work with, so it makes it more bearable!

Working out

I’ve finally gone and done what I’ve been meaning to do for a while, and that’s joining the gym. Now my mornings start at around 6am with a workout. Sometimes it’s really tough to get up in the mornings and feel motivated, but it makes the rest day lie-in’s feel so much better! I’m looking forward to starting some of the SU sport sessions in September when I’m back at uni to continue staying active and healthy.

I hope that you’re all taking a well earned rest and enjoying your summer too! Comment below with what you’re doing or if you have any plans that you’re looking forward to.
