Events for School and College Students

 

The University of Suffolk Student Recruitment and Outreach team run a variety of events throughout the year. These events are free to attend, but booking is essential. To register your interest about any of the below events please email schools@uos.ac.uk and we will update you as further details become available.

 

Open Events

University of Suffolk Open Events run throughout the year and are a great opportunity to find out more about the courses available, and to view the academic and social facilities. All open events have academics and support staff available for one-to-one discussion, and some also include specific subjects talks.

 

Access to Higher Education Conference: Wednesday 3rd October 2018 

This event takes place in the autumn term and is for students who have recently enrolled on an Access to Higher Education course. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend a range of workshops and talk to academics about the courses that most interest you. Preparing for University:  Wednesday 10 October 2018 

Year group: 12 (or equivalent)

Students from Year 11,12 and 13 are invited to take part in an exciting academic and non-academic day full of workshops. You will have the opportunity to select subject specific workshops delivered by our academics as well as participate in activities with current University of Suffolk students to prepare for university life.

 

Family Awareness Day: Saturday 17 November 2018

Year group: 7, 8 and 9 and parents/guardians

Students and their parents/guardians are invited along to our Ipswich campus to find out more about studying a degree at university.

This is a free event and a fantastic opportunity to learn more about university and to meet with current University of Suffolk students.

 

Splendid: Tuesday 22 - Wednesday 23 January 2019

Year group: 10-13

Splendid is an annual two day event aimed at students who have been identified as having a physical or specific learning difficulty or disability and would benefit from taking part in a university experience.

Over two days the participating students will work with University Staff and Student Ambassadors and be involved in subject taster sessions, team building activities and social activities. It is a great opportunity for students to find out about university life and see the opportunities higher education can offer.

 

Suffolk UCAS Higher Education Exhibition: 6 June 2019

Year group: 12 (or equivalent)

The University of Suffolk hosts the Suffolk UCAS Higher Education Exhibition on an annual basis. These exhibitions play a vital part in helping applicants decide what and where to study in higher education.
