The Journey through the Operating Theatre and the role of the Operating Department Practitioner

This session explores the patient journey from the ward to the operating theatre and discusses how the ODP delivers care to that patient throughout this period.

So You Want to be a Midwife?

This session will provide information about the role of the midwife, qualifications required to become a midwife and career development opportunities. Included in the session will be the opportunity to take a look at some of the tools of the trade, palpate a pregnant abdomen using a manikin and the chance to the view the specialist teaching facilities.

Introduction to Nursing

During the Taster session, students will gain insight into nursing and the different pathways that we offer at University of Suffolk. The session will also provide opportunities for students to become engaged in activities and practical skills which nurses undertake during their course, such as hand washing, taking temperature, pulse and blood pressure. A question time/panel discussion will take place at the end of the session.
