Christmas themed self-care

Christmas is lovely to be around family and friends, but sometimes it can be really stressful, especially if you’re travelling a lot. That’s why self-care is so important around this time of year and it’s good to find ways to relax among the hustle and bustle of Christmas parties, family reunions and sale shopping. To make it a bit more fun, make your self-care routine Christmas themed to fit in with the Christmas spirit. Here’s some ideas.

Movie and a drink

It’s Christmas so pick out your favourite holiday movie, grab a mulled wine, hot chocolate or whatever you like to drink at Christmas and enjoy. Some of my favourite movies are Home Alone, Love Actually and The Grinch. Some absolute classics! It’s lovely after a long day to relax on the sofa by yourself or with your loved ones and have a good laugh at a good Christmas movie.

Face mask and candles

Face masks are so relaxing (until you get one you can’t seem to get off!) and in this cold weather, they’re really good for re-hydrating your skin. Lots of shops will be selling Christmas themed ones, so if you want to add a bit of festive fun in there, try something different. Get some cinnamon candles, stick on your favourite Christmas songs and enjoy a bit of you-time.

Go for a walk

If you can brave the cold weather, go out for a walk in the evening and admire the Christmas lights. Go with some friends or with your partner and really get into the Christmas spirit when you see everyone’s houses lit up with your favourite Christmas lights. I love seeing the lights out in the town centre in Brighton, and it’s lovely to admire them as everyone rushes around doing their last-minute shopping.
