The Centre for Health and Wellbeing Research is located in the School of Health Sciences and brings together a growing body of research in this field from across the institution. It benefits from strong partnerships with other organisations working together to provide research and evaluation services as well as training opportunities which will benefit the local population and beyond. It aims to develop its portfolio of funded research in ways that respond to key health and wellbeing challenges within the local population, making a local, national and, where possible, an international contribution to the field. Key strengths include a multidisciplinary membership with a growing track record of applied research in areas such as:
living well with dementia
the health benefits of warmer homes
mental health and wellbeing
leadership and governance
online safety for children
The Centre provides a supportive and research active environment for existing and prospective research students and we particularly welcome applications for PhD study focussing on health and wellbeing.
