I’ve been living in Ipswich for over two years now and I’m almost certain I’ll stay after I graduate. I’ve really enjoyed my time so far living here and I want to share with you the reasons I love living in Ipswich.
Easy to get to places
Living in the centre of town, it’s so easy to get around to my friends, shopping and coffee shops. Ipswich also has easy links to London, Cambridge and Norwich if I want to get away for the day and it’s so easy for me to go home for the weekend.
Lots to do
I’ve always found there’s plenty to do around Ipswich. The Buttermarket has plenty of restaurants, bowling, the cinema, and even Ninja Tag. If you fancy something a bit different, the New Wolsey Theatre and the Ipswich Regent Theatre do regular shows. I also love to sit in the parks with my friends (though that’s probably better for the spring or summer).
Suffolk countryside
Ipswich is great for getting to the Suffolk countryside really quickly. It’s a short train to Woodbridge or a quick bike ride along the Orwell River to Suffolk Food Hall. If you have a car, you can go further to places like Southwold, Aldeburgh or Lavenham.
Best pubs
Ipswich has some amazing pubs depending on what you enjoy. Isaacs is really close to me and probably my favourite place to go. For a real Suffolk experience, go along to Pin Mill and have a pint of Aspalls.
The Waterfront
The Waterfront is my favourite place in Ipswich and I’m so lucky to be able to study and live there. It’s beautiful to walk down on a sunny day or sit in one of the many coffee shops with my friends. I have plenty of good memories on the Waterfront and I look forward to many more in the future.
