You will develop an understanding of the nature, processes and origins of 'management'. You’ll explore leadership, followership and the key principles of managing people.

Accounting and Finance play significant roles in every economy. Consequently, those charged with leadership and management roles must be equipped with to engage with and to interrogate accounting and financial information. You will be prepared to enter managerial and leadership roles and be able to make use of this information to guide decision-making.

Digital Marketing is now a fundamental part of Business. Expanding on your knowledge of the basic marketing principles you will explore how digital marketing contributes to modern-day marketing.

This module looks at how businesses can evolve and thrive in competitive markets. Combining data, operations, legal requirements, organisational behaviour and risk management this module is at the centre of growth within the business environment.

Key economic principles impact how all businesses function. You will be introduced to core concepts in both microeconomics (consumers, firms and markets) and macroeconomics (economic systems and policy) and encourage you to consider how they affect different types of business. You’ll also look at how economists use data analysis to identify trends and aid managerial decision making both nationally and internationally.

This module recognises the importance of entrepreneurship to stimulating and sustaining economic growth. You will examine what makes for a successful entrepreneur and how ideas can be evaluated and then turned into successful businesses. This will include business planning, financing and risk assessment.

In this module you will have the opportunity to take part in a placement within a UK business. It is designed to develop your skills in the workplace and give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge with real businesses.

This module encourages students to discuss and debate some of these issues and to develop both a sensitivity to a range of concerns and confidence in applying frameworks, theories and heuristics which can be used to guide the actions of managers and leaders.

Digital business models are a critical part of todays’ business and entrepreneurial environment, enabling businesses and entrepreneurs to create innovative and new revenue streams, customer experiences and growth trajectories. This module helps students develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts and tools for developing digital business models relevant for a dynamically digital and innovative entrepreneurial world.

Building on from the students' knowledge of the various digital marketing tools, this module looks at how you implement them, measure and analyze their performance. This is not just a module about quantitative methods and data, students will be encouraged to consider multiple types of data and the role that they can play in decision-making. The module acts as a context-led introduction to research methods and the design of data collection and research projects, vital to students as they enter Level 6.

Throughout this module students will engage with brands considering how brands are formed and established, examining the development of their cultural meaning, their ability to transform consumer experience, build identity and develop equity from both a financial and stakeholder perspective.  The challenges of aligning and incorporating the organisations ESG (Environmental, Social and Governence) criteria within their brands and brand messaging will be explored. This module also looks at your own personal brand as you come to the end of your degree and go out into the world of work.

This module builds on the marketing modules undertaken to provide students with the understanding of the principles, methods, and strategies of how marketing is communicated.
